Deadline Extended for Applications to Mentor Access Project 2012
The deadline for the ninth edition of the Mentor Access Project (MAP) has been extended to 13 July, 2012, to allow more aspiring writers to apply for mentorship under the scheme.
The National Arts Council Mentor Access Project (MAP) is a 12-month mentorship programme, running from August 2012 to July 2013, to develop Singaporean writers writing in English, Chinese, Malay or Tamil. Successful applicants will undergo mentorship with an established writer, with various opportunities to participate in dialogue sessions, talks, workshops and public readings over the course of the programme, at the end of which, selected works may be published.
MAP participants will be part of a dynamic community where every mentor and mentee is an essential player through group work and responding constructively to literary writings. A new 2012 highlight is a stay-in weekend writing residency, which provides a creative space and duration for participants to network and come together to share and discuss their writing and creative processes.
Applications for the 2012 intake will now close on 13 July 2012. Applications postmarked 13 July 2012 will also be accepted. Application forms are available atwww.theartshouse.com.sg/mentoraccessproject
