Indian Film Legend to Speak At Creative Festival for Asia
13 June 2011 (SINGAPORE) – Acclaimed Indian screen legend Kamal Hassan will deliver a public lecture in Singapore for the first time this June at Asia on the Edge (AOTE), Singapore’s new platform for the creative industries.
With close to have a century of experience in the cinema industry as actor, director, producer, choreographer and screenwriter, Kamal has received numerous awards and be likened as the “Al Pacino” of Indian cinema.
In Singapore, Kamal will be sharing his industry experience and observations to over 150 creative entrepreneurs from Japan to the Philippines who will be attending AOTE.
Said Mr Lyndon Yeo, Director of Asian Culture Enterprise who is organising Asia on the Edge: “It is an honour for this initiative to feature Mr Kamal who has played such an influential role in the development of Indian cinema. I am
sure that his experience will be an inspiration to us all here at Asia on the Edge.”
Haasan will be one of the speakers at this year’s Asia on the Edge (AOTE), a festival of visions and voices from Asia. Branding itself as one of the few, if not the only programme in Asia that aggregates in a single event the rich
traditions and heritage of Asia together with emerging ideas and trends for the future, resulting in a total integrated platform for the rest of the world to engage with the creative communities of Asia, AOTE 2011 will introduce two
new initiatives of Generating Ideas and Regenerating Communities.
