Singapore, 23 October 2006 – Earshot, Singapore’s only book and music store that focuses exclusively on literature, music and films produced by Singaporeans or about Singapore, opens her second retail outlet at the Esplanade Mall! Licensed to Creative Eateries by The Arts House, this outlet will be the latest addition to the former’s chain of restaurants at the Esplanade, including Al Dente Trattoria and Aria Bistro + Wine Bar.
“This is extremely good news to us as we have just celebrated Earshot’s first anniversary in July! Creative Eateries’ investment in Earshot clearly demonstrates that private enterprises believe in the intrinsic value in supporting the local arts industry and in this instance, goes one step further in showing great confidence to turn it into a profit–making business! We are very excited in this new business prospect and hope that this will increase greater appreciation of the creative movement in Singapore,” said Mr. Colin Goh, General Manager of The Arts House.
An avid supporter of the arts in Singapore, Mr. Anthony Wong, Director of Creative Eateries said, “We strongly believe in supporting and sponsoring the arts not just because it’s a worthy cause to promote but more so because we know that this move to invest in Earshot will compliment our own restaurant business, in building a stronger brand name for Creative Eateries. Earshot provides the opportunity for our patrons to enjoy good food to fill their stomachs as well as their minds! Through the new outlet at Esplanade Mall, we hope to expand this concept as well as open up more distribution channels of Singapore books, music and film.”
The Arts House opened its first outlet of Earshot in July 2005 and has since licensed the brand to Creative Eateries for the second outlet in Esplanade Mall. Bringing their culinary expertise into Earshot, Creative Eateries will also introduce a crêperie that serves a wide selection of savoury and dessert crêpes as well as patisserie, gelato and sorbet items. Earshot at the Esplanade is set to be the latest chill-out area in town – where one can enjoy a light, fluffy and delicious crêpe whilst checking out and supporting Singapore artists and their works.
