World Lit Workshop: How To Pitch and Write A Fashion Story with Dana Thomas
New York Times bestselling author and career journalist Dana Thomas will host a workshop on how to pitch and write a fashion story. Dana will explain how to take an initial idea, craft it into a smart strong pitch, tackle the reporting, write a strong lead, structure the story and tie it up with a “kicker." She’ll explore the difference between short pieces and long form, and explain the editing and fact-checking process. And she’ll discuss the reality of the fashion industry today. Bring your ideas and questions with you and be prepared to write.
Don’t miss the session of World Lit on 20 March 2015 as Thomas discusses the unheard stories of fashion giants - John Galliano and Alexander McQueen, in her new book Gods and Kings. Click here to find out more.
